ARTHUR WALLIS MYERS was the lawn tennis correspondent for The Field and the Daily Telegraph, and in this book he recounts his personal tennis memories of the first two decades of the twentieth century. These were the days when players also acted as umpires and linesman, and as well as winning doubles titles with the likes of New Zealand's ANTHONY WILDING, Myers also umpired matches involving most of the greats of his era. He played against BILL TILDEN at the Edgbaston tournament, and won a set against five-times Wimbledon champion LAURIE DOHERTY at Monte Carlo.
