The success of any event, whatever its nature, is above all due to the people involved. The growing success of the Roland Garros Tournaments is a perfect illustration of this. But behind the great champions who each year win our hearts, there are other key players. With masterful hands, they draw magical and colourful lines. For over twenty years now, around December, the organisers have eagerly awaited the unveiling of the work created by the artist they’ve commissioned to illustrate this prestigious competition.

In this volume, Philippe Fages, Sébastien Prigent and Franck K. Lehodey have sought to highlight the duality that unites sport and art, body and mind. They show that these states are never as far apart as they might seem.

This book exists thanks to the determination of the organisers of the Roland Garros Tournament, who, through this initiative, wished to thank all those who have contributed to making this artistic adventure a renewed media success year after year.
