THE 1954 WIMBLEDON CHAMPIONSHIPS took place over twelve days from Monday 21 June to Saturday 3 July. Play commenced at 2pm each day on all courts, and the Gentlemen’s Singles Final was played on Friday 2 July, when Jaroslav Drobný defeated Ken Rosewall in the final, 13–11, 4–6, 6–2, 9–7. On the final Saturday Maureen Connolly successfully defended her title, defeating Louise Brough in the final, 6–2, 7–5.
