THE 1963 WIMBLEDON CHAMPIONSHIPS took place over twelve days from Monday 24 June to Saturday 6 July. Play commenced at 2pm each day on all courts, and the Gentlemen’s Singles Final was played on Friday 5 July, when Chuck McKinley defeated Fred Stolle 9–7, 6–1, 6–4. On the final Saturday first-seeded Margaret Smith defeated unseeded Billie Jean Moffitt in the final, 6–3, 6–4.
