Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II made a rare visit to Wimbledon on Friday 1 July 1977 in recognition of The Centenary Championships. She was duly rewarded when Britain's Virginia Wade won the Ladies' Singles final against Betty Stove of Holland. Programmes from the Centenary Championships are now extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors.
