The first Wimbledon Official Annual was not a great success in pure sales terms, because the public did not know it had been published until they went to Wimbledon the following year and found copies on sale at the reduced price of £2 in the Wimbledon Museum Shop. The print run was small, with only 2000 copies produced, and the books were quickly snapped up. Since then hundreds of people have collected these annuals, and by 2019 a full set of thirty-seven volumes takes up a large space on the tennis lover's bookshelf. That first edition back in 1983 is now a sought-after collectable, and copies rarely come on the market. We currently have one copy available, in excellent condition with the dustwrapper intact. Champions JOHN McENROE and MARTINA NAVRATILOVA.
