The 2003 Wimbledon Championships took place over twelve days from Monday 23 June to Saturday 5 July. Play commenced at 2pm each day on all courts, and the Gentlemen’s Singles Final was played on Friday 4 July, when Roger Federer defeated Mark Philippoussis in the final, 7–6(7–5), 6–2, 7–6(7–3), On the final Saturday defending champion Serena Williams defeated her sister Venus Williams in a rematch of the previous year's final, 4–6, 6–4, 6–2.
The Royal Box Programme is a special edition produced for distinguished guests seated in the Royal Box on Centre Court at The Championships, Wimbledon. Far rarer than the standard daily programme, this elegant publication contains the full order of play together with background features, tournament information and photographs, presented in a distinguished format befitting its exclusive circulation.
Unlike the daily programmes sold to spectators at the Grounds, Royal Box Programmes were printed in very limited numbers and reserved solely for members of the Royal Box party on the day. As such, they are extremely scarce and highly prized by collectors of Wimbledon memorabilia.
