GALLERY RE-OPENS 26 SEPTEMBER September 23 2015

We'll be back in SW19 on 26 September following our trip to Glasgow for the Davis Cup. If you have any urgent questions or wish to check on an outstanding order please call us on 020 8715 8866 after 10am on Friday. The weekend at the Emirates Arena was a tremendous success, both for Tennis Gallery and - much more importantly - the British team. We were delighted to meet up with many old friends and to make some new ones; Glasgow is now second only to Birmingham for having the most readers of our free magazine What's New in Tennis. We'll be mailing out the next issue soon, so if you'd like to receive it just let us have your name and address (including postcode) and we'll add you to our 8,000-strong UK mailing list.

Hook Lawn Tennis Club August 26 2015

One of our customers is researching the history of local lawn tennis clubs in the Chessington, Surbiton and Kingston area, and is particularly looking for information about HOOK LAWN TENNIS CLUB. The club was based in King Edward Recreation Ground, Chessington, Surrey and closed down around 1979 or 1980. It competed in Surrey LTA team competitions and in the annual Sterry Cup which was run under the auspices of the Surbiton Open Spaces Lawn Tennis Association. The gallery will re-open at 10am today Tuesday 21 July after an amazing weekend at Queen's Club. Thanks to all our friends who came to say hello, and to the many people who asked for signed Boris Becker and Rod Laver books to be sent by post. We'll be sending these out today and tomorrow!

Rod Laver at TGW July 08 2015

Four-time Wimbledon singles champion ROD LAVER came to the gallery on Tuesday 7 July to sign copies of his excellent autobiography and meet dozens of his fans. We now have signed copies of Rod's book in both hardback and paperback, and these are available on a first come, first served basis while stocks last. We wish to think Rod for spending his valuable time with us, and everyone who met him now knows him to be a kind and modest man as well as one of the all time greats of tennis.

AEGON Surbiton Trophy June 07 2015

The grass court season is here and our pop-up shop is at Surbiton Lawn Tennis Club right through until Sunday 14 June. Admission to the tournament is free for the first three days, and very reasonably-priced after that. Come and see us in the refreshments marquee, and check out some great tennis too!

OUR SHOP IN WIMBLEDON PARK IS CLOSED until Wednesday 27 May at 10am, but you can continue to place online orders as usual. We will be at Roland Garros on 25 and 26 May, and when we return we will have a limited number 2015 French Open programmes, magazines and posters available on a first come, first served basis.

Sportsmans Book Club May 21 2015

In the 1950s and 60s a mail order book service was operated from London to provide affordable books for sports lovers. The Sportsmans Book Club published cheap editions of quality books which members could buy for about a third of the original published price. The books were hardbacks in the club's distinctive thin paper dustjackets. Sports covered included cricket, football, rugger, boxing and - from time to time - lawn tennis. SBC books share a highly readable style which now half a century later seems absolutely charming! We have some SBC books at prices under twenty pounds, and we will be adding these to the website shortly. Titles will include the SBC edition of Lew Hoad's autobiography My Game.

Powerful Posters March 26 2015

Today saw the press launch of the new tennis poster exhibition at the WIMBLEDON LAWN TENNIS MUSEUM. The exhibition is entitled POWERFUL POSTERS and is open every day from now through to February 2016. It's a great exhibition, with posters spanning the period 1893 to the eye-catching new 2015 Championships poster designed by a young Russian artist.
